RN Jobs and Their Impact On the Nursing Profession
There are many Registered Nurses (RN) who want to increase their salaries in their chosen profession but have felt stymied because of the past belief that the only way to do so has been to go into the administrative side of their nursing career. Some dedicated RN's who enjoy the satisfaction they receive from giving care to patients in need refrain from seeking administrative positions because to do so would mean they could no longer have one-on-one interaction with their patients.
Recognizing that many nurses in RN positions wish to stay there, hospitals and other health care facilities have acknowledged that they may be losing qualified RN's who seek better pay. They have addressed this problem by implementing opportunities to climb a career ladder to allow those wishing to enhance their skills to make higher salaries while
recognizing their need to provide hands-on care to their patients.
Programs have been developed that provide a means for RN nurses to grow within their present job but yet allow them the opportunity for personal growth and higher salaries without going into the administrative field. Health care providers have discovered that these programs both help retain their RN's who might seek other jobs and also help recruit new nurses as well.
Hospitals have also implemented plans to improve the number of nurse applicants by ad campaigns aimed at bringing more possible RN's into their facility by encouraging men, minorities and older workers to apply for RN and other nursing jobs. Job training at lower costs is also an issue that has been addressed to lure even more qualified applicants into advancing into RN jobs.
